Join Seth G. Jones, the Harold Brown Chair and Director of the Transnational Threats Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, as he reveals the CIA s operations in Poland which produced a landmark victory for democracy during the Cold War.

In the fall of 1982, US President Ronald Regan authorized one of the most successful intelligence operations during the Cold War, which has important implications for today s situation with Russia. For his new book Covert Action, Jones conducted in-depth interviews and mined recently declassified evidence to capture the sophisticated intelligence campaign, code-named QRHELPFUL, which kept the budding Polish liberal opposition movement alive. The book will be available for sale and signing at the event.
