A JOURNEY TO MODERN DAY GEISHA BEAUTY
By Nami Onodera
Known as the geisha whisperer, Nami Onodera has spent the last eight years working at the luxury skincare line, TATCHA, with its founder, Victoria Tsai. Together, they have brought classical Japanese beauty secrets into the lives of modern women throughout the world. Nami will share how they encountered the world of the geisha and discovered time-honored Japanese beauty practices in an 1813 text considered to be one of the oldest beauty books written in Japan. Today, the geisha s skin care philosophy and time-tested ingredients are the inspiration behind the Tatcha collection.
Nami Onodera is currently Senior Director of Brand Insight/Cultural Advisor at TATCHA. As a specialist in multi-cultural marketing, Nami has worked with clients such as Nike and Disney to promote their products worldwide. A native of Japan, Nami grew up as the daughter of a linguist and journalist. She is a graduate of Tamagawa University.
